2008 marks the 25th anniversary of this beautiful coin. In celebration of this historical milestone, the Isle of Man government has introduced a new design showing a classic image of Archangel Michael slaying the dragon. This is the third Angel design in the coin’s 25-year history. It brings back some of the features from the very first Angel coin, including Michael’s feathered wings and the Celtic band around the border.
The 2008 Isle of Man Angel 1oz Gold Coin was struck by the Pobjoy Mint in the year 2008 and belongs to the Angel series of gold bullion coins. Each .9999 fine gold coin contains 1 troy ounce (31.1035 grams) of gold.
