The platinum britannia series was launched in 2007 - the 20th anniversary of the popular Britannia gold bullion coin series. On the reverse, a beautiful new rendition of the seated figure of Britannia has been created by Christopher Le Brun RA and modelled by John Bergdahl. The obverse features the familiar portrait of Her Majesty The Queen, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS.
The 2007 UK Britannia 1oz Platinum Coin was struck by the British Royal Mint in the year 2007 and belongs to the Britannia series of platinum bullion coins. Each .995 fine platinum coin contains 1 troy ounce (31.1035 grams) of platinum and is legal tender with a face value of £100.
