The Series II silver coins' four reverse designs feature famous Chinese landmarks located around Beijing - the host city. The four design images include: A traditional courtyard residence in Beijing, the Summer Palace, the Great Wall of China and the Tibetan Tower of Beihai Park. These images are all closely associated with China and will no doubt be images seen during the Beijing 2008 Olympics. The left side of the coin, about 1/3 of the area, is divided by the "Chinese traditional Ruyi" decoration, with colored designs on Chinese traditional blue/white porcelain, painted glaze, pottery, and lacquer ware.

The common obverse design for the silver coins features the traditional paired "Chinese dragon" image, the emblem of the 29th Olympic Games, "The People's Republic of China" in Simplified Chinese and the year 2008.

The 2008 China Beijing Olympics 1oz Silver Series II Proof Coin was struck by the China Mint in the year 2008 and belongs to the Beijing Olympics series of silver bullion coins. Each .999 fine silver coin contains 1 troy ounce (31.1035 grams) of silver and is legal tender with a face value of 10 yuan.
